MATH DISABILITIES

Methods and Resources...

Like children with dyslexia, children diagnosed with dyscalculia or a math disability don’t just struggle with mathematical concepts or processes, they have difficulty processing these concepts, whether because of visual-spatial difficulties or language-processing difficulties. The steps and concepts they are taught become scrambled, and they are unable to reproduce the steps taught to them in class. This page pulls together activities and teaching methods that our teachers have found successful in teaching these students.
